CTFE Announcements and Events

>>2014 Teaching Excellence Award Winners
We are proud to announce our 2014 University Teaching Excellence Award winners, the Adjunct Faculty Teaching Excellence Award winners, the David J. King Award winner, and our Teachers of Distinction! All award winners will be honored at the 2014 Celebration of Teaching Excellence on Monday, April 21, from 3:30pm-5:00pm in the Center for the Arts. We invite the Mason Community to attend.

>>Faculty Writing Academy
Need to get started or make headway on a writing project before the summer months? Join us on a four-day retreat in late May, where we offer uninterrupted work time, a distraction-free work place, a supportive and collegial community of peers, and sessions on the habits of mind and resources that support writing productivity. Space is limited; the deadline to apply is April 15. Please see the program page for more details.

>>Webinar on iClickers
CTFE and Learning Support Service's Instructional Design group invite faculty members who have been using i-Clicker student response systems to participate in a conversation about how they have incorporated this tool into their courses and view the webinar "Can Clickers Replace Tests?" together. The event will be held on April 16 - registration is required.

>>New Video Resource!
Check out our new video about Mason’s Active Learning with Technology (ALT) Classroom!

>>Revised Final Exam Schedule
We encourage all instructors to confirm their final exam dates and time. Please note that your final exam time may have been shortened to accommodate university closures and delayed openings. See the Spring 2014 Academic Calendar to see the updated schedule.

>>Call for Proposals: 2014 ITL Conference
The Call for Proposals for our 2014 Innovations in Teaching & Learning conference has closed. Notifications about proposal decisions will be sent by mid-May.
