New Faculty Workshops

Our Fall 2012 annual New Faculty Workshops will be held on Tuesday, August 14th, from 9:00-4:30 in Mason Hall D3 A&B, and on Thursday, August 23rd, from 9:00-1:00 in University Hall Room 1201. If you are a new faculty member at Mason, please consider attending one of these two sessions for discussions about teaching, course design, and institutional programs and policies.

We are delighted to participate in a number of new faculty and graduate student orientations across the institution each year, from short presentations about the resources, programs, and support offered by CTFE to more in-depth workshops across a range of topics.

Additionally, before the start of the fall semester we offer a pre-term workshop for faculty who are new to Mason.  The workshop, “Teaching at Mason: Strategies for Success,” is designed to help you learn more about Mason students, syllabus and course design, ensuring a smooth first day of class, strategies for facilitating students’ learning, classroom management, strategies for effective grading, and more.

To inquire about registration for our workshops, please contact the Center for Teaching and Faculty Excellence at ctfe@gmu.edu or 703-993-8652.
